The case
Louisville once had one of the best city flags in the country: thirteen stars and three fleurs-de-lis, ranked ninth in a 2004 national survey. Since the 2003 merger, Louisville Metro has flown its seal on blue instead.
The Louisville Flag brings back what made the old flag good, a few bold shapes with clear meaning, and adds the one thing none of Louisville's flags ever said: Kentucky.
This is a first draft of the case. The effort lead will expand it.
Updates
- The design is published
The Louisville Flag now has a home on Kentucky Flags, alongside the city's and county's earlier flags.
