About this flag
Adopted when Louisville and Jefferson County merged into one metro government in 2003. It places the new government's seal on a blue field: a gold fleur-de-lis with two stars and the founding year 1778, ringed by "Louisville · Jefferson County · Metro."
The seal artwork was designed by William Glenn Hack, a Louisville native and art director. Flags of the World also records a blue-and-gold variant of unknown origin.

Louisville Metro
Louisville and Jefferson County each had their own flags until they merged into one government in January 2003. Both lines meet in today's Louisville Metro flag.
