About this flag

A blue flag carrying the city's seal: a ring of stars around three gold fleurs-de-lis, with "City of Louisville" and the founding year 1778 in gold lettering.

Flags of the World records it as the city's flag "of the period right before consolidating" with Jefferson County in 2003. Its adoption date and designer are not recorded there.

Louisville Metro

Louisville and Jefferson County each had their own flags until they merged into one government in January 2003. Both lines meet in today's Louisville Metro flag.
